On November 13, Brazzaville hosted the third edition of the Vox Eco Forum, organized by VoxMag magazine. Under the theme “Financing Congo’s economic diversification”, the event brought together political decision-makers, financial experts, entrepreneurs, players in the real economy and representatives of civil society around the same table. The aim is to exchange views and identify concrete ways to boost investment attractiveness and breathe new life into local entrepreneurship.

Invited to speak at the event, Issa Attye, Director of Burotop Iris, made a strong plea for the private sector. “The primary source of employment in a country is the private sector,” he reminded us, stressing the special responsibility of businesses in creating value and opportunities for Congolese youth. An intervention that puts economic players back at the heart of the national development equation, far from a wait-and-see attitude.

The Burotop Iris Director also defended an even more ambitious vision: that of a private sector acting as a force for national autonomy. By investing in sectors where products are produced and processed locally, the famous “Made in Congo”, companies contribute directly to the country’s economic independence and reduce its dependence on imports. A clear message, in line with the issues of sovereignty that are currently at the heart of public debate in the Congo and Africa.
