To mark March 8, the Burotop Iris Foundation has chosen to tackle a subject still too often relegated to the shadows: women’s mental health. Hosted by Madame Tendra Obeni, the awareness-raising session focused on the vital and topical theme of “Mental health and resilience”. A reminder that behind the smiles of everyday life, many women silently bear the weight of inequalities, social pressures and multiple expectations that weigh on their shoulders.

Throughout the discussions, the speaker insisted on a strong conviction: mental health is a fundamental right, just like physical health. Breaking taboos, encouraging people to speak out, facilitating access to care and recognizing resilience as a strength rather than an obligation imposed on women: these are just some of the avenues candidly explored by the participants. The session ended with a question-and-answer session during which everyone shared their experiences, doubts and hopes.

Through this initiative, the Burotop Iris Foundation is reaffirming its conviction that a fairer, more balanced society begins with support for those who support it every day. Because a mentally fulfilled woman means a stronger family, a stronger community and, ultimately, a stronger country.
